Visiting orphanages

Pack for a Purpose does not condone visiting orphanages, as this can often lead to negative impacts on children. The accommodation or tour company working with the orphanage will deliver the supplies in a coordinated and respectful way so that the children can benefit from them. Your generosity is not diminished because you do not interact with the children.

Project Description

The Sarapiquí Conservation Learning Center (SCLC) is an independent non-profit organization located on Selva Verde Lodge’s property. Along with SCLC programs like EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes and Rural Tourism activities, Selva Verde continues to run the library. In order to satisfy our current readers’ wishes and hopefully expand our outreach to the community, Spanish new or used books in good condition for individuals ages 10 and up is the most needed. Selva Verde looks forward to increasing its efforts to grow the Spanish content of the library.
